In a stunning display of endurance and determination, George Kusche and Gerda Steyn have etched their names into the annals of South African sports history by breaking the long-standing records at this year's Comrades Marathon, held on June 14, 2026. This iconic ultra-marathon, spanning 90 kilometers between Durban and Pietermaritzburg, witnessed a breathtaking performance that left spectators and fellow runners in awe.


George Kusche, a seasoned athlete from Cape Town, completed the grueling course in an impressive 5 hours, 15 minutes, setting a new record for the men’s category.
